This position is based in North Kingstown, RI.
As the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee the maintenance, safety, and security of the facility and equipment. Leading a team of facilities staff and contractors, you'll ensure the facility operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and sustainability.
Responsibilities
* Building Maintenance: Manage the maintenance of HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and overall building systems. Maintain accurate service records and preventive maintenance schedules.
* Facility Safety & Security: Ensure safety systems are operational, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and security cameras. Maintain key control records and respond to alarm or safety incidents.
* Equipment Oversight: Oversee material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts), ensuring proper maintenance, repairs, and documentation. Recommend cost-effective solutions for repairs or replacements.
* Facility Upkeep: Monitor and maintain the grounds, including snow removal, landscaping, and parking lot safety.
* Compliance & Inspections: Coordinate with government and insurance agencies for inspections and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and hazardous material regulations.
* Vendor Management: Supervise contractors and vendors for services like uniforms, vending machines, and other facility-related needs.
* Continuous Improvement: Promote energy conservation and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
* Emergency Preparedness: Maintain and update the Emergency Evacuation Plan and act as the liaison with local officials during emergencies.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
* Proven experience in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
* Familiarity with RCRA (hazardous waste) and DOT hazardous waste regulations.
* Engineering experience, including control systems troubleshooting.
* Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
* 10+ years in a manufacturing environment with hands-on facilities management experience.
* Licensed Contractor/Master in Rhode Island required.
Physical Requirements This role involves both office and physical activity, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and using tools. You should be comfortable lifting, balancing, stooping, and kneeling as needed.
