Our dedication to supplying quality products, on-time delivery, and superior support, has contributed to the success of our customers and the critical missions they serve.This position is 100% onsite at our Bohemia, NY office.The compensation range for this role is $26-33/hr.This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.Position Summary:The primary function of the Facilities Mechanic A is to perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all plant facilities and infrastructure. This position requires a high level of expertise in plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance. The Facilities Mechanic A will independently handle more complex maintenance tasks, ensuring that all facility systems operate efficiently and reliably, and will serve as a subject matter expert for the Facilities Department.Key Position Accountabilities:
- Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and other critical facility infrastructure, including water, nitrogen, compressed air, and lighting systems.
- Independently complete complex repairs and installations of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Oversee and execute preventative maintenance for all building systems, equipment, and machinery, ensuring the longevity and efficiency of facilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical failures, minimizing downtime in critical systems and production areas.
- Maintain and update maintenance logs, records of repairs, and parts used, ensuring accurate documentation of all work performed.
- Safely handle and dispose of chemical waste, and ensure proper distribution of supplies to manufacturing locations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform quick, effective repairs to mitigate system failures and maintain operational continuity.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to all company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in facilities management or related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in facilities maintenance, with expertise in plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and building infrastructure.
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facility systems and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, with the ability to implement preventive and corrective maintenance tasks independently.
- Valid driver's license.
Work Environment:
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- This position requires access to a cleanroom environment. In order to promote an environment with a low level of airborne environmental pollutants employees must at all times adhere to all established cleanroom procedures.
