Job Summary:
The Facilities Project Manager participates in facility condition assessments, conducts operational surveys, and reviews work order data to provide recommendations for the university's facility capital renewal plan. The recommendations are incorporated into annual and multi-year project planning.
The Facilities Project Manager provides technical support for O&M shop staff by leading the resolution of chronic maintenance problems in multiple building systems, conducting root cause failure analysis of equipment, and providing technical input on preventive maintenance standards.
The Facilities Project Manager performs miscellaneous project management duties on assigned projects including providing technical input for outside consultants and construction teams, reviewing project design and construction documents, and participating in quality assurance inspections.
The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for maintaining the Operation and Maintenance department's portion of the University's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Design Guidelines.
Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (hard hat, vest, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and are not for personal use. Required to work safely and promote a safe environment.

Required Qualifications:
High School/GED.
Six years of facilities management experience to include: facility space forecasting, planning, expansion, RPT process, project management and supervisory experience.
High level of independent technical judgment to assess and make recommendations on facility systems and assets.
Post- secondary education may be substituted for experience.
Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Thorough understanding of current building systems technology. Knowledge of basic building operating systems, such as mechanical systems, electrical systems, and plumbing systems to include boilers, chillers and life safety systems.
Demonstrated experience in assisting with project management.
Strong organization skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and interact well with all levels of personnel and with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
Effective in large project management, problem solving, and general engineering.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Ability to lead and motivate others.
Teamworking skills to work cooperatively and coordinate with people at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
Ten years of related experience.
High level of independent technical judgment to assess and make recommendations on facility systems.
Thorough understanding of current building systems technology.
Demonstrated experience project management.
