Compensation$18.97 - $27.09(Based on Experience)SummaryWe are looking for skilled Facilities Technicians to operate and maintain heating, refrigeration, ventilation, and other mechanical building equipment at our Combined Sewer Overflow Facilities.Job Responsibilities Perform shop math Troubleshoot building systems and equipment Read, comprehend, and interpret drawings, specifications, schematics, and equipment documents Perform emergency repairs, predictive maintenance, and preventative maintenance work orders Perform maintenance of facilities, buildings, and grounds Perform facility and building repair, demolition, and construction as directed Perform and successfully complete work assignments timely and accurately Create, complete, close, and submit work orders Specify and estimate labor, tools, and materials needed for projects and assigned tasks Perform tests and report results Maintain various records and prepare reports Receive and follow instructions Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all GLWA Teams Complete required training as assigned and as needed to maintain certifica tions and licenses Work safely and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Provide on the job trainingRequired Education and ExperienceRequired Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Building Construction, Facilities Maintenance, or related field; experience in freshwater or wastewater treatment utility or plants, pumping stations, mechanical maintenance and repair, facilities maintenance, or electrical repair work preferred. Other Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver's License with the ability todrive a motor vehicle on all terrain Ability to work irregular hours, commute to GLWA facilities and work sites Subject to random drug and alcohol testing Environmental Working Requirements: Work is performed in inclement weather, the field, water and wastewater plants, combined sewer overflow basins, pumping stations, and office environments. Work may be performed in confined spaces, hazardous areas that require respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE), and under slippery and wet conditions.
