Job Title: Facilities Technician II

Salary Range: $25.00-34.00

Location: South Seattle

About the Position

The Facilities Technician II maintains the day-to-day operations and assume responsibility for maintaining the conditions of Seattle Goodwill stores, properties and equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Performs skilled crafts work in one or more specialties such as carpentry, plumbing, welding, electrical and may be a project lead.

Performs routine equipment maintenance and a variety of works (plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, electrical) in building maintenance and repair of equipment; prioritizes schedules, assigns and coordinates work flow.

Constructs, rebuilds and repairs equipment and facilities such as store furniture and fixtures, pallet jacks, carts, scrubber machines, compressors, timers, relays, equipment remotes etc.

Follows all Facilities Department protocols.

Performs complex tasks/ special assignments and trains others as needed.

Performs routine electrical and plumbing repairs and maintenance including replacing ballasts and replacing faucets, toilets, urinals etc.

Performs a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to doors, drywall, roofs, downspouts and other facility needs.

Perform regular welding as required (Mig, Tig, Oxy Acetylene etc.).

Maintains tools and equipment in safe, clean and proper working conditions.

Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

Maintains accurate and timely records related to materials, work orders and expense reports.

Purchases tools, equipment and materials.

Operate light trucks/ other vehicles and equipment: Work vans, forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and towing equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED or technical training certificate or equivalent experience.

3 years minimum experience.

Prior construction experience or background a plus.

Must demonstrate a solid understanding and knowledge of general maintenance, carpentry, painting, refurbishing, plumbing, electricity, appliances and HVAC in both theory and practical application.

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Able to perform a wide variety of tasks with little or no direction. Skilled in several aspects of maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, mechanical etc.

Ability to operate a variety of equipment and machines including saws, roto hammers, drill presses and various hand and power tools, etc.

Ability to demonstrate professionalism and can work independently, be able to plan, organize and follow through on work.

Desire and ability to be a team player.

Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential.

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

Must have valid WA State driver's license and proof of good driving record.

Meet any maintenance educational and/or training requirements.

Computer/Technology Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.

Physical Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; have developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Ability to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment: Varying temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to chemicals and industrial hazards and dust. Workers must follow safety precautions and use protective equipment such as hardhats, safety glasses and hearing protectors. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as position requires on call status, night shifts and weekends as required. Must have reliable transportation.
