Facilities Technician - Talascend : Job Details

Talascend is looking for a Facilities Technician in Latham, NY. The main function of a Facilities Technician is to provide general maintenance support for the assigned buildings. Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe secure and well-maintained.
• Troubleshoot power HVAC system and controls and mechanical systems.
• Maintain general amp preventative maintenance carpentry plumbing systems and vendor management.
• Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed.
• Move office furniture machinery equipment and other materials as requested.

Skills:

• Interpersonal skills attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time.
• Basic knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenance.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years experience required.

Other Job duties:

• Becomes familiar with the equipment managed by the team and the methods required to use them properly.
• This includes fire/life safety HVAC Critical Power plumbing security PA and other building related equipment.
• Delivers mail and packages.
• Perform daily weekly bi-weekly and monthly inspections of emergency lights fire extinguishers and safety eye wash stations.
• Must have an understanding of the importance of following PM schedules.
• General basic interior and exterior maintenance a plumbing filter changes painting and patching fixture installation lighting.
• Recognize and complies with all safety procedures maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas and equipment
