Principal Responsibilities: The Opportunity: The Binghamton JCC is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Facilities Team, who ensure that our facility is well maintained and in good working condition. As part of your responsibilities, you will be joining a team that ensures that any facility issues regarding electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, renovations, preventative maintenance, landscaping, snow plowing, etc... are taken care of daily.
Minimum Qualifications: Who You Are: Our ideal candidate will have working knowledge of equipment and tools used to keep a large commercial size facility running efficiently and effectively. You should have at least a basic understanding of light plumbing, carpentry, light electrical, mowing, landscaping, plowing, salting, etc... An all around Handyman is perfect for the job. Able to lift at least 75 pounds comfortably. This is an excellent position for someone who is retired and wants to work a few hours a week, or for someone working full time who has time off during the week (firemen, policemen, etc...) that they would like to fill and earn some extra spending money. Hours are Monday - Friday, 12-15 hours per week. Prefer afternoon hours, such as 1-6 PM three days a week, or 12-6 PM two days a week. Willing to work with you on hours. You are able to select the days you want to work, and these days can change weekly. We are flexible.

Since its inception in 1927, the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Binghamton, NY has grown to become an essential part of the Broome County community. As a full-service, non-profit organization, the JCC provides educational, cultural, recreational, and physical fitness programs to enhance the quality of life for all ages, from infants to senior citizens. As a non-sectarian United Way partner, the JCC welcomes participants regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, or ability to pay. The JCC's facility houses a natatorium with a 2,250 square foot pool, fitness center, men's and women's health clubs with steam & sauna rooms, a fitness loft with spin bikes and Pilates reformers, auditorium, and beautiful gymnasium. Over 200 children are served daily at our award-winning Early Childhood Center. Our year-round educational childcare includes UPK, after-school program, summer camp, and youth sports offerings. The 8-acre land also features outdoor tennis/pickleball and basketball courts, pavilion, nature preserve, soccer field, and three age-appropriate playgrounds.
