Job Title: Facilities Technician - Tier ILocation: Ormond CentralReports To: Facilities DirectorJob Summary: The Facilities Technician Tier I is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repair tasks, and general upkeep of the facility. This entry-level position involves handling basic technical issues, assisting with various facility operations, and ensuring a well-maintained and functional environment.Key Responsibilities:
Routine Maintenance and Repairs:- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Replace filters, light bulbs, and other minor components as needed.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with facility systems.
Facility Upkeep:- Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms, storage areas, and other technical spaces.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Assist in setting up and configuring equipment for various facility needs or events.
Safety and Compliance:- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Report any safety hazards or facility issues to the Facilities Director promptly.
Support and Coordination:- Provide support to higher-level technicians or maintenance personnel as needed.
- Communicate effectively with staff and management regarding facility issues and service requests.
- Assist in coordinating with external vendors or contractors for specialized services.
Documentation and Reporting:- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and facilities service requests.
- Complete work orders and update forms as required.
- Provide regular updates on the status of ongoing tasks and projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or coursework in facilities maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC preferred.
- Previous experience in facility maintenance or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle technical tasks with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.
Working Conditions:
- May involve working in various areas of the facility, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, or outdoor spaces.
- May require working evenings or weekends.
- Physical demands including lifting up to 50lbs, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise and potential hazards associated with maintenance work.
