Requirements
Complete the requirements for Administrator Licensure for Adult Care Homes in the state of North Carolina, including successful completion of the state-regulated exam.

Description
Assure that all rights given to residents in the Bill of Rights are insured and that assistance is available to exercise these rights.
Maintain confidentiality regarding each resident and their protected health information.
Make sure that proper documentation and record keeping is performed for all residents and staff members, as well as the operation of the facility.
Maintain annual budget and oversee the financial operations of the business office.
Assure that all food, supplies, and equipment are purchased to meet the needs of each resident.
Serve as payee for those residents in need of such for Social Security benefits.
Develop and implement policies and procedures in all relevant areas in order to ensure the daily operations of the facility occur without delay or difficulty.
Perform pre-admission interviews with a perspective resident, guardian, family member(s), and/or responsible party to determine appropriateness for placement.
Make final determination for admissions and discharges.Serve as a reference for visitors, family members, vendors, and other outside entities.
Maintain and audit records concerning resident census, and have available a sign-in/sign-out register to account for all residents assigned to the facility.
Provide residents with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues regarding their care and financial records.
Ensure that all residents are receiving the level of care that they need, including the transfer to a higher or lower level of care when necessary.
Assess and obtain outside support for residents from others in the community when necessary, including, but not limited to, medical attention, psychiatric services, and rehabilitative programs.
Arrange and/or provide transportation for residents as required.
Ensure proper administration of all medications, treatments, and prescribed programs as ordered by the physician and in accordance with current regulations and guidelines.
Assure provision of required hours of activities per week.
Review the activities program on a bi-annual basis, or as needed otherwise.
Maintain proper records of all resident funds, and account for all documented resident expenses.
Maintain records and notify appropriate parties of all accidents/incidents.
Assist consultants, physicians, and other healthcare providers to assure overall medical care.
Maintain compliance in sanitation, safety requirements, and building code requirements as required by the state regulatory agencies.
Assure all personnel regulations are met including, but not limited to:Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, training, and delegating responsibilities to all staff to provider proper coverage on a continuous basis.Maintaining records of employee training and required annual education requirements.Familiarizing all staff with policies and procedures including, but not limited to, accidents/incidents, fire safety, and emergency procedures.Assuring that all staff are aware of the Residents Bill of Rights and they are able to provide for these rights in their job roles.
Cooperate with and serve as a liaison to all local, regional, and state agencies concerned with licensure and monitoring of Adult Care Homes.
Maintain Administrators License and meet the required educational obligations that are of the state regulatory agencys specifications.
Serve as a facilitator for residents council and be available for grievances and complaints filed by residents.
