What You Can Expect:

  • Monday-Friday 8 hour days

  • On call shifts- one week rotational basis (during on call shifts 30 min. response time is required and weekend of the on call week is required)
  • Must have knowledge of computer and web based systems, must be familiar with lawn care and snow removal; utilizing equipment.

The Facility Maintenance/Mechanic 1, under direct supervision, performs routine work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment.

  • Assists in the repair and maintenance of equipment or machinery.
  • Troubleshoots and addresses basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and/or maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain and apply codes, standards, rules and regulations involved in assigned maintenance activities.
  • Records maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work.
  • May be responsible for infectious waste removal and light carpentry duties.
  • Complies with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, State and local codes, regulations and requirements. Dispose of materials according to regulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary departments.
  • Handles basic issues using knowledge of procedures and policies. Refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License
