By keeping our customers first, and providing them with the best safety, quality, OTIF, innovation, and value-added services, we will create virtuous cycles of mutual benefit, resulting in profitable returns for years to come.Summary of Position:The successful Facility Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for equipment servicing and setup, supporting the production staff in line setups, repairing building and facilities, and other relevant matters that may involve this scope of responsibility. In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have experience and be a quick learner. This position requires an experienced professional who will be able to diagnose and repair assets with little supervision. It will allow the right candidate to show their value quickly and become a highly valued member of the team.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Performs minor and major repair of building and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.)Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems and hydraulics.Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.May repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security.May install computer cable.Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures.Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.All other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with certification from a technical school preferred5+ years' experience in a manufacturing setting with oversight of equipment, maintenance, and setupsAbility to diagnose, repair, and setup equipmentExperience in packaging equipment is a plus, including rotary and high speed die presses, stitchers/gluers, strippers, etc.Experience in industrial mechanics, electrics, pneumatics, and hydraulicsStrong work ethic, with good prioritizing skills based on production needsAble to work a single shift, and open and close a facility when neededAbility to keep logs on preventative maintenanceAbility to read manuals and blueprints to diagnose and repair machinesA quick learner that either takes good notes or has the ability to retain information based on how they learnAbility to train operators on proper equipment use to reduce down time and issues that arise from poor trainingAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosSkilled in the use of hand and power toolsAbility to write simple correspondenceAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsAbility to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsAbility to lift 100 pounds on a regular basisValid NYS Driver's License
