Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Facility Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day safe operation and maintenance of the facility, balance of site, and grounds. The incumbent is responsible for identification of facility deficiencies, as well and short- and long-term building reliability, safety, and capital construction and repair needs. The Superintendent serves as the facility owner's oversight of all capital and major repair and external repair activities ensuring contractors receive training, follow required procedures and practices, and comply with site requirements. They are responsible for overseeing the maintenance backlog priorities, and currency of preventative maintenance, working in partnership with the Maintenance and Operations Managers. They are responsible for issuance of permits, environmental compliance, and OSHA compliance. This position requires integrated scheduling participation, establishing priorities, communication with all levels of staff and management, and matrixed interface with project management. The Facility Superintendent may also be required to serve as a back-up to the Operations or Maintenance Manager.Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains capability to meet the plant production requirements, current and future.
- Oversees and monitors operation and performance and initiates corrective measures as required within their assigned facility.
- Participates and responds to audits performed upon the operation by others.
- Works with appropriate plant support organizations to facilitate/support applicable work control activities.
- Oversees, in concert with specific Site Technical Representatives assigned, the work of external construction and maintenance contractors.
- Assigns priorities for Maintenance and the Production Support groups assigned to the facility.
- Performs routine walk-through inspections of assigned areas and documents for correction/resolution of deficiencies.
- Attends and/or conducts meetings as required to represent the organization. Serves on committees as assigned.
- Assumes roles/responsibilities/interfaces of facility director when required.
- Identifies deficiencies in the Corrective Action System and takes appropriate ownership of resolution.
- Oversees Permitting in the facility and ensures compliance with OSHA and Centrus requirements.
- Sets and maintains a safety standard for the facility and helps enforce that standard for all occupants.
- Serves as the key point of contact for external visitors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance
Minimum Education:
- The incumbent shall normally have a bachelor's degree. Equivalent experience specific to facility management and operations may also qualify the candidate.
Minimum Experience:
- Must have at least 6 years of facility operations or maintenance experience. Must also have demonstrated experience in supervision of facility activities/repairs.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- BS degree in a related discipline. 6 years of facility operations/maintenance experience. 2 to 4 years in a supervisory role.

This position will require a preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.
