Position Overview: As the FactoryLogix System Administrator at SMTC, you will be the subject matter expert for FactoryLogix, SMTC's Manufacturing Execution System (MES). In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the system, ensuring seamless operation of work instructions, production tracking, and product statuses. You will work closely with the manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve any system-related issues and help drive continuous improvements within production processes. Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for FactoryLogix, managing and maintaining the system to support manufacturing operations.
  • Develop, update, and configure work instructions and workflows within the system.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and IT, to ensure accurate tracking of production statuses.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users on the use of FactoryLogix.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance system performance and support continuous improvement initiatives within the factory.
  • Support system upgrades and participate in testing to ensure successful implementation of new features and updates.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with industry standards and internal processes.
  • Liaise with FactoryLogix vendor support for advanced troubleshooting and software updates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience for the FactoryLogix System Administrator:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) such as FactoryLogix or similar platforms.
  • Strong technical skills with experience in system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, and electronics assembly is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, data integration, and reporting tools is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to train and support users across multiple levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while configuring and monitoring the FactoryLogix system.
  • Frequently operates a computer and utilizes software tools for system management, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Occasionally moves within office and manufacturing areas to collaborate with teams and address system-related concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and vendors to provide technical support and resolve issues.
  • Handles and reviews detailed system data and documentation, requiring close visual attention.
