This position reports to the Head of the Intermediate School and is responsible for teaching four classes of history. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned curriculum, correct assignments, administer tests, evaluate students' progress, inform parents of progress.
• Work collaboratively with departmental teams in developing curriculum and assessing students.
• Keep attendance records; maintain discipline in the classroom.
• Participate in faculty and professional meetings and teacher training workshops as appropriate.
• Be organized, dependable, patient and creative.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Experience teaching History, preferably at the Middle School level.
• Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with students and understand their educational and emotional needs.
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, support staff, parents and members of the community.
• Ability to recognize and respond to individual and cultural differences in students and utilize a variety of teaching methods to support student learning.
