Family Assistant Worker - Youth Direct Care Aide in the Cape Youth Day Treatment Program Base Pay: $17.00/hour Minimum Required Qualifications: Two years of college and two years of experience working with mental health or child populations; or, Associates degree and two years of experience working with mental health or child population; or, Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services Field. Must hold or obtain by start date, MO Class E Drivers License (Class D for IL Residents), and proof of continuous auto insurance. Must also meet CCCs Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation. The Program The Youth Day Treatment program provides services to youth in grades 3-12 who require a step-down or an alternative to inpatient care or partial hospitalization, or as transitional care following an inpatient or partial hospitalization stay in order to facilitate return to the community or to prevent or minimize the need for more intense or restrictive level of treatment. The Day Treatment Program provides services that are more intensive than outpatient treatment and will serve persons who need a structured, behavioral health setting for daytime activities. The Job As a Family Assistance Worker, you would be responsible for providing interventions to children in the Day Treatment Program for the purpose of helping children remain in the school, community, and in the home. You would be working with the children on teaching skills such as communication, de-escalation, behaviors, coping techniques, and many more. It is important to note that we do see various escalations through this program; however, it is an extremely rewarding experience to see the clients meet their treatment goals and transition out of the Youth Day Treatment program and back into the regular school settings. Essential Functions Attend to the needs of, and provide assistance to children during Day Treatment activities and within the community, under the direction of the Day Treatment Manager. Give feedback regarding behavior, skills, and peer interactions during Treatment Team Meetings. Teach skills and model appropriate pro-social interactions. Provide complete and timely documentation as per policy and procedures. Attend to the needs of children through phone calls to parents related to pick up times. Work with an integrated treatment team, including case managers, psychiatrists, and the schools administrative staff to provide consistent care. Non-Essential Functions Maintain compliance with all policy and procedures. Complete all required training. Work cooperatively with other departments and members of the community. Assist with facilitating family activities. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Required Qualifications Ancillary staff shall meet at least one of the following criteria: Individual with a bachelors degree in child development, psychology, social work, or education; or Individual with an associate degree with two (2) years experience in related mental health or child-related fields; or Individual with two (2) years of college and two (2) years experience in related mental health or child-related fields; or Occupational therapist; or Physical therapist; or Assistant behavior analyst. Staff must have proof of continuous auto insurance, must be able to possess a MO Class E license, and successfully complete the required CPR/First Aid and Pro-ACT Training.
