Job Summary:

The Marist Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) is a dropout prevention and college access program for underrepresented school students in grades 5-12 in the Poughkeepsie School District. The Family Engagement Coordinator is responsible for fostering strong partnerships between the Marist LPP staff, school district staff, and the families of students enrolled in the Marist Liberty Partnerships Program. This role focuses on promoting family involvement in educational activities, addressing concerns, and ensuring effective communication between the school and the home and serves as the primary liaison between families, school, and LPP staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields of study

1 - 3 years of relevant work experience

Essential Functions:

Conduct outreach to engage parents/guardians in their childrens education

Develop and implement a communication system for LPP students parents/ guardians (i.e. send correspondences to students and parents/guardians and compose newsletters)

Develop, implement, and supervise Marist LPP activities and initiatives that foster parent/guardian and student participation and engagement, including the Marist LPP After-School Programs

Help educate parents/guardians and students on relevant issues and meet with school officials to address parent/guardian concerns and create programs to tackle these issues

Assist with data collection, data entry, and data analysis for reporting purposes

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields of study

Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
