Additional Information About the Role

BJC Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine Physician to join our well-established outpatient clinic located in a charming rural community just over an hour away from St. Louis, Missouri in Sullivan, MO. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a supportive environment affiliated with Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital that has committed to expanding Primary Care department space in 2025. This opportunity provides great mentorship and is enhanced by the presence of a licensed social worker, dietitian and a multispecialty clinic, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients making them our first priority.

Practice Overview:

  • Join an existing outpatient only clinic that has been recently expanded and remodeled.
  • Collaborate in this practice with two established Primary Care Providers and an OBGYN Physician.
  • Sub-specialty support and hospitalist team to care for your patients.
  • 36 patient contact hours within a 5-day work week.
  • High HPSA Score
  • EPIC EMR

Overview

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties.

The hospital has enhanced and expanded the health care services available to the greater Sullivan community with its state-of-the-art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multiroom surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center. A 22,500 square-foot medical office building provides offices for primary care physicians as well as space for a variety of visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St. Louis area.

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital operates four rural health clinics providing quality health care to surrounding communities. In addition, the hospital operates a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department and an award-winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers.

The Sullivan medical clinic is a well-established, multi-discipline physician group providing family, internal and OB care.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Ensures optimal care and promotes safety of patients admitted to assigned service in cooperation with the private attending staff and nursing staff. Communicates with staff, patients, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the medical care of assigned patients.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital by-laws.
  • Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service. Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.
