The Key Program is currently seeking a full-time Family Specialist for our Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), based out of our Fall River, MA regional office. In this role, you will work with families throughout Fall River and surrounding towns.The Triple P Program is an evidenced-based model, working in collaboration with DCF to assist parents maintain their child safely in their home or to transition the child home from placement. Extensive training will be provided in which the identified candidate will become a certified Triple P curriculum facilitator and instructor. Qualifications: The Family Specialist is a non-exempt, hourly paid position. A Bachelor's Degree in a human services field is required along with one year of direct experience working with children and families. All candidates must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid state driver's license and have a legally registered and insured car for work use. The identified candidate must be able to attend the Triple P training and successfully complete the accreditation process. Responsibilities: As a formally trained and certified Triple P curriculum facilitator and instructor, the role of the Family Specialist is to assist parents develop positive skills to decrease the risk of maltreatment, maintain their child safely in their home and to assist with reunification:
  • Maintain a flexible schedule in order to accommodate the schedule of families, including some evening work;
  • Implement a skills-based training approach involving didactic presentations, practical skills training and clinical problem-solving skills, emphasizing positive parenting strategies;
  • Maintain a working relationship with different systems including child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, schools, health and community resources;
  • Maintain client records in accordance with Triple P format and timetables.
