Status: Full-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Summary of the Position: In-home Family Support provider is responsible for allowing the member and family to practice and implement the coping strategies introduced by the In-Home Family Therapist.
- The Family Support worker works with the member and family on the practical application of the skills ad interventions that will allow that member and family to function more effectively.
- The Family Support Worker assist the Family Therapist by helping the parent/child communicate their concerns; providing feedback to the Therapist about observable family dynamics; helping the family and youth implement changes discussed in Family Therapy and/or Parenting Classes; Providing education to parent/legal representative regarding their child's mental illness; coaching, supporting, and encouraging new parenting techniques; helping parents/legal representatives learn new parenting skills specific to meet the needs of their child; participating in family activities and parent/legal representative in applying specific and on-the-spot parenting methods.
- Ensure that all components of the treatment plan are being implemented and are clinically appropriate as determined by the diagnosis and assessment.
- Ensure that all services are provided in compliance with YAP policies and State/Federal regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in one of the following human service fields required: Psychology, counseling, or social work preferred but not required.
- Experience in the provision of home and community-based mental health services
