Family Support Worker LawrenceFull Time Family Support WorkerBased in Lawrence, KS but must be able to travel to Mission, KS for regular meetingsPosition Overview:
- Provides for the safety, stability and well-being of children and families during the referral period
- Delivers and coordinates culturally competent therapeutic and case management services to children and families
- Facilitates family meetings within required time frames
- Engages and works in partnership with families to complete assessments and develop case plan goals and objectives
- Responds promptly to family crisis situations, documents critical incidents and is available 24/7 to clients
- Completes an initial and on-going family assessment related to safety, stability and well-being including mental health, substance abuse, education, emotional, social and physical well-being, parenting and parent-child relationships
- Assesses each child's safety with every family contact and reports all suspected child abuse/neglect Monitors family progress and service provision through the use of assessment tools, and updates family case plans based on those assessments
- Appears and testifies in court as required
- Provides 24 hour, 7 days a week support to staff and remains available during crisis situations
Requirements include:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Requires a minimum two years relevant experience in behavioral health or children/family services;
- Personal experience with addictions treatment is preferred
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must pass pre-employment background checks, reference checks, drug screening and fingerprinting
