Job Summary
The Center for Middle Georgia Studies seeks a motivated and detail-oriented student worker to assist with various research, administrative, and event planning tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in academic research, community engagement, and project management.
Responsibilities
* Assist with research projects focused on the region
* Organize and catalog archival materials
* Help maintain databases of regional information
* Support event planning for lectures, workshops, or conferences
* Assist with social media and website updates
* Transcribe interviews or historical documents
* Conduct literature reviews on Middle Georgia topics
* Help prepare reports or presentations
* Assist Faculty Fellows, researchers or scholars
* Support community outreach initiatives
* Perform clerical or data entry tasks and file important documents accordingly.
* Maintain all work areas in a clean and organized manner.
* Maintain his/her academic work load while handling a work study job opportunity.
* Must be dependable and prompt.
* Must adhere to the code of confidentiality.
* Be cordial to all staff, faculty and visitors entering the office.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum GPA of 2.0
* Currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hours
* Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
* A student worker must have knowledge of computers and different software programs.
* Any prior job experience in an office environment is helpful, but not necessary.
* Student is required to retain Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) confidentiality.
