Thrive With Us and find your career and purpose!Coordinates with the family and provider to confirm the prevention plan meets the needs of the family and accurately represents the services being provided. Partners with the family and provider around initial and ongoing engagement with services. Completes monthly contact with families who are not being provided case management services through another agency and other identified families that may be determined to need additional supports. Monthly contact includes individual time with the child(ren) and contact with their caregivers. Documents all interactions with the family and the provider. Provides reports to the Court when Court is involved with the family and reporting is requested. Coordinates with the provider to obtain information to inform the report to court. Completes subsequent or additional Family First prevention service referrals as agreed upon with the family. Coordinates communication between providers when multiple providers are working with the family. Collaborates with the prevention provider to complete an assessment with the family prior to closure of services. Works alongside the family to develop a safety network. Works collaboratively with the assigned child protection practitioner related to any subsequent abuse/neglect reports received by the Kansas Protection Report Center regarding the family while their prevention service case is open. Completes assessments and documentation, required by policy, for all subsequent Family In Need of Assessment (FINA) reports received by the Kansas Protection Report Center (KPRC) regarding the family while their prevention service case is open. Educates community and DCF staff regarding the Family FirstPrevention Services Act. Responsible for all system entry capturing case activity related to assigned prevention and FINA cases. System entry includes the Family and Child Tracking System (FACTS) and KIDS. Enters all prevention plans, initial and subsequent referrals, and required updates in FACTS and KIDS as the case progresses. System entry must be accurate and meet required timelines for entry. Utilizes KIDS to capture FINA assessments, logging and case decisions.View the full position description: Qualifications: Four-year degree in Human Services or Behavioral Sciences field of study, or education determined relevant by the agency; Valid Driver's License (must be maintained throughout employment; Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written formatPreferred Qualifications: Licensed Social Worker; Master's in Professional Counseling (Licensed Professional Counselor); Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist); Licensed Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) professional as determined relevant by the agency; A minimum of 2-years work experience in Children and Family Services; Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsPost-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:* Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check.
