Overview: The position of FFT CW Kin ship Therapist is a unique opportunity for a Family Therapist to work not only with the child's parents, but with the Kin of the child who has taken the child(ren) into their home. Quickly identified that a child in need can be fostered temporarily by their relative(s) the Therapist will find themselves building multiple relationships within this type of service we provide here at The Salvation Army. This is a newly created position and there is a need to
hire immediately as we have children, Kin and Parents in need of our help. The FFT CW Kin ship Therapist will receive specialized training in order to provide therapy for 8-10 families as assigned with the goal to reduce risks for the families and
stabilize Kin ship placements.

Responsibilities:
Listed below is an overview of the essential duties and responsibilities as a FFT CW Kinship Therapist:
- Maintain comprehensive assessments of families, devise and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with Department of Children and Family and other Family Service Providers identified.
- Conduct Home Visits at a minimum of two times per month and Therapy Sessions per the FFT-KC model.
- Assist family members in devising and implementing FFT-KC service plans and strategies of intervention for the family.
- Participate in FFT-KC training, FFT-KC consultation/case conferences, and consult with FFT-KC Supervisor in providing services based on FFT-KC principles
- Will perform clinical assessments and case recommendations.
- Providing casework/counseling, crisis intervention, brokerage and networking advocacy, coordinating services with other service providers, agencies and programs and
- As identified, referrals for auxiliary services with guidance by the FFT CW Kin ship Supervisor and DCFS Case Manager.
- Timely completion of all Connections documents, assessments, case narratives, case plans and statistical information, reports and outcome data.
- Provide written documentation on client's observed behavior and response to treatment intervention.
- Consultation and recommendation regarding childs permanency plans, and familys treatment needs;
- Required to provide expert testimony to courts and judiciaries regarding risk assessments as requested.Assist in the training of interns/students/new workers.
- Collaborate effectively with outside services and agencies including but not limited to Department of Child and Family Services.
- Must maintain a current caseload of a minimum of 8 and up to 10 cases.
Qualifications:
- MSW or related Masters Degree with clinical experience and licensure preferred.
- Bachelors Degree with Masters Degree nearing completion, and 5 years clinical experience.
- Strong background in family systems preferred.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, communications skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Must possess a valid drivers license that meets The Salvation Armys insurance requirements.
- Provide physical assistance and/or intervention with children.
- Ensure families' needs are met during crises
