We value generosity, resiliency, having a heart of a teacher, and attention to detail while fostering joy, optimism and servanthood through hard-work and humility.We are looking for Construction Installation Professionals to perform drop construction services including, but not limited to: underground and overhead drop installations; splicing; stick, pneumatic and directional drill boring; trenching; operating a mini skid steer; plowing; digging; gaffing; along with ladder-work outside of homes and businesses.This position will be reporting out of our Perry, FL OfficeWhat's in it for you?

Skill-set Specific Duties and Responsibilities:A: Splicing
  • Safely and efficiently splices cables in residential and commercial environments meeting all company and partner specifications.
  • Performs skilled duties related to copper and fiber splicing and preventive cable maintenance.
  • Splices copper and fiber cables in all environments (aerial, buried, underground and buildings) according to company specifications and quality standards.
  • Installs and dresses fiber optic cables.
  • Prepares and installs aerial and underground splice enclosures along with a variety of other closures common to the splicing and termination of fiber optic cables.
B: Underground Drop
  • Safely and efficiently installs underground cables in residential and commercial environments meeting all company and partner specifications.
  • Uses best practices for the installation of underground wiring and does not violate local building codes.
  • Operates various trenching equipment such as a mini skid steer or walk beside trencher.
  • Locates existing buried copper and fiber facilities and complies with 811 requirements (OneCall) before any digging projects. Properly identifies other utility flags and safely works around utilities.
  • Loads reel trailers with strand, fiber or cable as required.
  • Buries cable and conduit systems by operating blowing, plowing, digging, boring and trenching equipment and pulling fiber and cable through conduit systems.
C: Overhead Drop
  • Safely and efficiently installs overhead cables in residential and commercial environments meeting all company and partner specifications.
  • Uses best practices for the installation of underground wiring in compliance with local codes and regulations or customer's specifications.
  • Loads reel trailers with strand, fiber or cable as required.
  • Hangs overhead cable or strand using various methods including but not limited to a ladder, bucket truck or gaffs.
  • Pulls fiber and cable through conduit systems
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the company's minimum safety standards.
  • Proficient in Internet-related applications such as email and web browsers.
  • General knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
  • Aptitude to read and interpret fiber records, staking sheets, specification sheets, and circuit diagrams
  • Ability to splice fiber as directed.
  • Thorough understanding of hand tools and power tools.
  • In-depth understanding of technology-based services, products, and networking.
  • Able to meet physical requirements: climb ladders, work in confined spaces and/or various heights, lift and/or move up to 75 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and willingness to work.
Schedule:
  • Regularly scheduled to work 40 hours a week.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed in addition to regular travel.
  • As part of your job duties, you may be required to travel depending on the project needs. When work is slower in your market, there may be an occasion that you would be asked to travel to another market location to help with the workload either in state or out of state.
