Position DescriptionPurposeThe purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective technical and administrative support for the field operations functions. Focus & Scope Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:Company / Entity
  • Actively supports field operations goals and objectives through completing technical/ administrative projects on time and accurately, providing ongoing support, and proactively resolving challenges and issues.
  • Promotes, and protects Teichert Construction values including diversity, teamwork, fair work environment, and respect of others; maintains a team spirit within the business unit and on project teams. Works and cooperates with other disciplines (across company lines) to ensure maximum and best use of resources.
  • Collaborates across field functions and business unit and supports consistent construction and safety practices and procedures on all project efforts. Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards to protect the company's interests.
  • Promotes and protects the community perception of Teichert.
  • Technical / Specialty Area
  • Performs clerical duties such as setting up and maintaining department files. Maintains files of working documents for back-up to construction projects.
  • Maintains office records and files through accurate and timely processing of documents, setting up and maintaining department files, and other as required.
  • Prepares manuals for distribution, types general correspondence, files, data entry, makes copies, etc.
  • Assists in achieving a zero-injury culture through supporting safety programs and actively participating in appropriate safety meetings and training sessions to maintain a safe, healthy work environment and meet corporate safety standards.
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers. Maintains a favorable impression of the company with external customers through professional and courteous interactions. Gathers feedback and continuously makes improvements to work processes, practices, and equipment.
  • Contributes to the smooth operation of field functions by providing clerical support to field operations which may include some or all of the following:
  • Accounts Payable: creating purchase orders, handling material receiving tags, assisting office personnel with AP processing when needed, interfacing with Corporate Shared Services to improve AP efficiency.
  • Assists with coordinating resources for assigned projects.
  • Checks labor, equipment, and materials for accuracy pertaining to the job.
  • Coordinates subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Orders and schedules material for assigned jobs.
  • Maintains USA tickets and diaries.
  • Supports Business Unit's business development program through updating and maintaining customer information system; prepares and distributes information as required.

    • Field Operations Manager, Area Manager, General Superintendent, Superintendents, Project Managers, Assistant Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, Cost Analysts, and other company business units
    Role Qualifications & Requirements Education:
    • High School diploma or GED
    Experience & Industry Expertise:
    • On-the-job training
    • Six months prior experience in a construction office/clerical role preferred
    Position Description Cont.Specific Job Requirements:
    • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Current on all company required safety training
    • Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest
    • Basic typing skills

    • Ability to use personal computer using word and spreadsheet applications

    • Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer or occasional job site visits require walking on uneven ground, climbing, bending, stooping, and crawling in confined or enclosed spaces. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours during peak seasons.
    • Work Environment: Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise. May be exposed to the conditions of job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various shifts or hours during peak seasons.
    BASE SALARY RANGE:$19.23 - $26.92The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position.
