Job Summary: Scale Technician will be responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of our scales at various locations in commercial and industrial settings. They work independently or as part of a team to ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and company standards. If needed, working within a shop may be necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support, improve and standardize scales within our production facilities.
- Install and repair components related to scale operations.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on scale systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and provide solutions.
- May participate in the teardown and setup of batch plants.
- Keep up to date with industry codes and standards and ensure compliance in all work.
- Communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide recommendations.
- Train and mentor less experienced team members, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain tools and equipment required to perform duties.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports.
- Operate forklift and arial equipment to complete job.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of scale functions and operation.
- Familiarity with a variety of scales and equipment.
- Basic understanding of fabrication.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, if required.
- Knowledge of scale operations and repair, including their electrical systems.
- Maintain a valid CDL driver's license.
- Maintain a valid DOT medical card.
- Must be able to safely lift 65 pounds.
- Attention and commitment to safety, ability to follow instructions and work long hours.
Working Conditions:
- Scale Technicians work both indoors and outdoors, often in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- The work may require standing, kneeling, or bending for long periods of time.
- Scale Technicians works full-time and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The work may require travel to different job sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 65 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
