At Bestbath, caring for our employees is not just a statement; it's our demonstrable commitment.Job DescriptionMaintains / repairs production, tooling and shipping equipment, plant maintenance, prepares materials and handles raw material.Keys to SuccessProblem SolverMechanically inclined and demonstrates strong aptitude for repair and diagnosis.CollaboratorAble to effectively work with and communicate with customers, coworkers, and vendors in a professional, courteous mannerDiligent WorkerIs self-driven and responsible for keeping up on assigned duties without constant supervisionDetail OrientedHigh level of accuracy, effective organizational skills, precise decision-making skillsPossesses the proper troubleshooting techniquesResponsibilities & DutiesPrepare equipment and confirm status to start up and shut down production plant.Make sure all production/manufacturing equipment is in working order.Complies with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures.Diagnoses and repairs electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, and mechanical problems and equipment for assigned areas.Rebuilds spray equipment, small mechanical tools, large mechanical tools, hand tools, grinders, and other equipment as needed.Raw material testing/drawdowns /verificationsMixes materials, handles raw materials, resin, glass, gel coat, acetone and other production materials as needed.Assist Supervisor to ensure Standard operating Procedures are accurate and up to dateInstalls fixtures and repairs and maintains plumbing as needed.Requires multi-tasking, being self-motivated and prioritizing tasks.Work overtime as needed and may include weekends and holidays when the manufacturing facility is not in operation; or when special projects require it (deemed by Management)Dumps trash, welds, and does electrical as neededPerforms other duties as assigned or neededQualifications, Knowledge & SkillsMinimum 2 years of experience fixing/repairing spray equipment, large and small mechanical equipment, manufacturing guns, pumps in a manufacturing environment plus some knowledge of mechanical, electrical, welding, F.R.P materials and procedures.Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record and be insurable.Must have experience in driving a forklift and successfully acquire a forklift Operation Certificate per company standards.Position requires standing on feet for 8 or more hours per day.Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and have the ability to remain on taskRegular/dependable attendance, accuracy, and attention to detail.Must be CCT certifiedWill need to be complete Lean 301 training (must already have Lean 201 completed)Proper welding techniques and practices.Mechanical knowledge of using and repairing machines and tools production equipmentMicrosoft Office suit software knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook/Power point)Know how to read tape measures (calipers/micrometers a plus)Work Environment & Physical DemandsWork is performed primarily in a maintenance environment with moderate noise level. The employee in this class is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.Position requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to accomplish work tasks.Potential for exposure to chemicals, solvents, and hazardous equipment, such as electric saws, power tools, and welding equipment.Frequently works with caustic chemicals & vibrations.Constantly bending, reaching, extending, twisting, griping, and uses muscles to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects with assistance up to 100 lbs.Constantly requires walking, climbing, balancing, or standing for long periods of time, up to 8 hours.Constantly requires clarity of speech, vision, and hearing, which permits the employee to communicate effectively and accomplish work.MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO WORKDAY & SWING SHIFTS BY ASSIGMENT AND ROTATIONS.Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Required to work outside and in adverse weather at times to help clear snow or clear weeds and trash and any other work tasks assigned by Management.Tools, Equipment & Protective Gear UsedDrills, screw drivers, grinders, forklift, tape measure, all types of saws, high shear mixer, hand wrenches.
