Job Description :

Brunel is looking to hire a Field Safety Technician to work with a major Oil and Gas company in Sabine Pass, TX on a long term contract!

The Safety Technician supports and ensures the execution of Safety and Health (S&H) Operations Readiness programs. This role involves leading and fostering a strong safety culture among employees and contractors, conducting orientations, interfacing with various departments, and enhancing safety programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure S&H deliverables (e.g., Safety Refresh, IH Programs, FLS Leadership) are complete and executable
  • Coordinate vendor support, supplies, and training
  • Advise and coach employees and contractors to maintain an excellent safety culture
  • Conduct SSH&E orientations
  • Implement SSH&E programs (e.g., behavior-based safety, permit audits, toolbox talks)
  • Provide coaching and support for site operations
  • Conduct hazard identification walks and resolve findings
  • Track, analyze, and report safety metrics
  • Lead incident investigations and identify corrective actions
  • Review and enhance existing safety policies and procedures
  • Promote site recognition and rewards programs

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Technician or similar role
  • Degree or equivalent field experience in Occupational Safety and Health
  • Prefer experience in an operating environment
  • Experience in lifting and rigging, crane operations, confined space, working at height, and LEL environments
  • Work permitting experience (elevated work, crane lifts, confined space, excavation, LOTO)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Power BI)
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting statistics, and producing reports
  • Experience conducting incident investigations
  • OSHA 30 & OSHA 510 certification or equivalent safety and health training
