Position Details:Title: Field Service Engineer IILocation: Malta, NYShift: Day Shift (M-F) / Rotating on-call weekends w/ 2 hours of OT providedCompensation: $75K - $80K DOEQ w/ OT and annualized bonusBenefits: Performance-related bonus incentive. Expense account, tuition reimbursement, company paid holidays, vacation based on service, and casual work environment.Travel: Can be up to 40% during the week if for an OOA installPosition Description:Field Service Engineers (FSE) are responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs of company's semiconductor equipment at customer facilities. FSE's will maintain the following sub-systems: Electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, optical, lasers, and wafer transfer systems (including robots). Training is provided on a formal or on-the-job (OTJ) basis. FSE's report to customer manufacturing facilities on a daily basis and attend daily customer pass-down meetings as required. FSE's help the company meet equipment uptime and availability commitments. FSE's perform timely and regular communication, including plan-of-action (POA) documents to report on escalation activities. FSE's participate in an on-call schedule as applicable.Responsibilities:Complete assigned formal and OJT with the goal of instrument certificationManage and maintain traveling inventory according to department policy and procedureProtect and maintain company property (i.e., traveling inventory, company care, test equipment, tools, )Pick up and return messages and service calls from customers in a manner meeting service department policiesMaintain appropriate records of all work performed and training receivedPortray professionalism and pride in appearance while conforming to company policiesProvide a positive attitude to all employees and customersComply and adhere to company policiesStrong work ethicOther duties as assignedRequirements:AS degree in Electronics Engineering (or relevant field) or equivalent combination of education and experienceBS degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferredExperience using digital volt meters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, and computersExperience reading electrical schematicWillingness to travel both domestically and internationallyEligible to be added to HTA's insuranceMust have and retain a valid driver's license in resident StateEligible for and receive a company credit cardEligible to acquire a passportAbilities:Knowledge and understanding of analog and digital circuitryKnowledge and understanding of mechanical principlesStrong verbal and written communication skills with management, co-workers, internal and external customerAbility to effectively communicate information to customers and management regarding service activities and schedulesAbility to follow precise instructionsAbility to perform service calls (Preventive Maintenance and Repairs) on one or more models of a product line (measured by instrument certification)Knowledge and understanding of physics and chemistryAbility to work from schematics using various test equipment and mathematical calculations specific to electronicAbility to effectively interface with customers and service department personnelAbility to communicate (read, write, and speak) in English effectivelyAbility to communicate (read, write, and/or speak) in Japanese a plusAbility to drive an automobile
