$40 - $45/hour commensurate with experience

JOB SUMMARY

We're seeking a dedicated field service engineer who thrives on problem-solving, enjoys the challenge of working with complex electrical systems, and possesses not only technical experience but an understanding of customer service if you're motivated by continual skill development and are ready for a position that offers diverse systems, clientele, and the opportunity to resolve complex, technical challenges - we want to meet you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot, maintain and conduct preventive and corrective measures on Centrotherm equipment at client facilities.
  • Install and test software systems.
  • Perform detailed function testing of all system components.
  • Install and adjust mechanical and electrical system components.
  • Implement and execute commissioning protocols.
  • Provide remote support to customer technicians for hardware and software issue resolution.
  • Provide customer training courses.
  • Provide on-call service outside of standard business hours.
  • Document all performed activities.
  • Travel primarily within North America and occasionally to the head office in Germany for on-site servicing and installations.

QUALIFICATIONS and KEY SKILLS

  • 3+ years of experience with troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, installation, and testing of equipment.
  • Experience with electrical systems, PLC/PC controls, servo drives, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of detailed function testing of all components of the system.
  • Experience with installation and adjustment of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ability to carry out commissioning protocols.
  • Capability to provide phone support for hardware and software issue resolution.
  • Experience implementing customer training courses.
  • Availability for on-call service outside of standard business hours.
  • Experience documenting all performed activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel.
  • Willingness to travel mainly within North America, and occasionally to the head office in Germany.
  • Valid work permit, Driver's License, and Passport.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
