Our client is based in Youngstown, Ohio with a satellite office in Oxford, CT. They are one of the leading railway maintenance equipment providers within North America. They design rolling stock maintenance machines, including but not limited to; wheel-set presses, truck presses, truck testing stands, and various types of custom designed equipment. In 2018, they added high-quality lifting and rotating products, along with dedicated spare parts and field service support. This very talented and dedicated group has significant experience in engineering, manufacturing, and service for several lifting and rotating products. Some of the specific products are drop tables, car hoists, portable electric jacks, truck hoists, truck rotators, turntables and more.The Field Service Manager will be responsible for the direction and management of the Field Service team. This individual will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that resources are scheduled for timely completion of tasks in the factory and out in the field. The Field Service Manager will closely work with the Customer Service Manager to ensure the scope of work for each field service event is clearly defined. This position reports to the Customer Service Manager.Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the group of traveling Field Service Technicians consisting of 7-10 direct reports.- Manage the original scope for all field service projects (small and large) and thoroughly communicate this with the customer and the field service technicians; processing change orders as necessary when scope change is requested- Issue fully defined work orders for field technicians to include, but not limited to; job number, customer contact info, parts required, scope of work, and so on- Build estimates and write technical proposals for field service work- Work with suppliers to get new/updated quotations for replacement parts for spare parts and field service projects- Review Field Service Reports from Technicians and direct or modify as necessary to ensure a professional level report- Interview, hire and train new Field Service Technician talent as required to meet workload demands- Reviewing and updating Operation and Maintenance Manuals as required- Support the Project Manager and Customer Service Manager as required- Any other related tasks that may be required for successful project completion- Emergency field service work and local field service work may be required; travel approximately 25%- Assist with coordination, tracking and expediting receivables for field service work including, but not limited to, equipment, replacement parts, consumables, and so on- Assist with quotations from suppliers to get new/updated quotations for replacement OEM and aftermarket parts- Review and critique Operation and Maintenance Manuals of equipment for continuous improvementBase salary, $10K - $130K Seize this chance to work for one of the leading railway maintenance equipment providers in North America.
