Our unique products bring beauty and joy to thousands of communities across North America.We are looking for a Field Service Technician in the Greater New York City area to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a team that installs and maintains our customers' bells and clocks. As a family-owned company, we promote strong relationships with our customers that last for years.Because our business has a national footprint, our technicians travel frequentlymostly to areas east of the Mississippi River. We strive to promote a healthy work-life balance with a work schedule that typically consists of 12 days on the road (generally leaving on a Monday and returning the following Friday) followed by 2 weeks of local work that allows you to be home at the end of the workday.Our business is stronger than ever, and we are looking for Field Service Technicians based in the New York City area. In this role, you will:
- Travel frequently, with up to 50% as managed by the dispatch team. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and clean driving record.
- Work comfortably on ladders (up to 40-ft. extension ladder), in bell/clock towers, and in boom lifts.
- Possess basic mechanical and electronic trouble shooting skills; we will train you on the detailed workings of our products, but you should have a knack and a desire for fixing equipment issues utilizing technical manuals, engineering drawings, and technical support.
- Program electronic control equipment with the aid of manuals and technical support.
- Be Verdin's face to the customer and therefore capable of communicating in an effective, courteous, and professional manner.
- Document and summarize issues and work completed in a clear manner through end-of-work reports.
The ideal candidate will excel at building customer relationships and developing technical skills. In addition, we look for:
- Basic Mechanical knowledge. Experience with electronics and/or electro-mechanical equipmentprevious experience as a musician, electrician, or fabricator is a plus.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 60 lbs. regularly.
- A self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently and think creatively to solve problems.
- Military experience is welcome.
- High school degree or equivalent.
