Field Service Technician - HNM Systems : Job Details

FIELD TECHNICIAN

We are currently hiring for both entry-level and experienced Field Technicians in the Chicago, IL area. For entry-level candidates, we are providing training for customer service-oriented persons that have a passion for trying something new. This is a field-based position, and the Field Technicians will be responsible for meter upgrades and installs. This position is with our customer that is a world-leading company that focuses on making utilities efficient. Our customer supports the following industries: Electricity, Gas, Water, and Smart Cities (SmartGrid). This is a long-term contract (12-36 months) with the opportunity for an extension.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Preferred: have a minimum of 1 year of field-based work experience
• Preferred: 2 years of work experience in endpoint/meter installation
• Preferred: experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility meters and related technologies
• Experience with GIS mapping software such as Google Earth
• Experience with GPS and coordinate data
• Must maintain a consistent average of 52 sites/day
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; the ability to directly interface with customers and vendors; maintain a professional appearance; and work independently.
• Analytical problem-solving skills.
• Work independently and multi-task with minimum supervision.
• High School Diploma or above
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Strong PC skills with software such as, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
• Able to travel locally within the customer region as much as 90% of the time. Possibility to travel out of state to other customer locations as much as 25% of the time.
• Clear driving record + valid driver's license

Work Environment: Field-based

Compensation and Benefits: Hourly $22/hr (Non-Exempt)
