We are currently looking for an experienced FT Field Superintendent for our Splicing department. This is an hourly/field position.
Summary/Objective:
This position is directly responsible for running multiple jobs within their respective department and managing and overseeing all resources necessary to complete each job on time and within budget while meeting customer expectations. Resources include, but are not limited to, labor, materials, sub-contractors, and equipment. The Field Superintendent will work under the direction and assistance of the Project Manager to ensure success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews job budgets and Levels of Effort (LOEs) with Project Managers to fully understand the scope and schedule of projects.
- In field coordination of the required manpower, subcontractors, equipment, material, lodging, fueling and staging needed for projects.
- Oversees the activities of manpower and subcontractors for the successful completion of the project per the job cost budget.
- Bears a responsibility to Celerity to ensure all safety protocols, procedures and initiatives are met on job sites.
- Ensures the accurate documentation of field completion including manpower, equipment, material usage, subcontractors and completed tasks related to the budget at the cost code and cost class level.
- Seeks alternate completion methodologies that would outperform the as-bid model. Shares findings with the Bidding & Estimating manager for creation of internal change orders.
- Notifies Department Manager and Project Manager of any Change Orders. Assists with the compilation of the LOE for any Change Orders.
- Reviews Daily Performance Reports (DPRs) for accuracy and to stay abreast of project performance.
- Coordinates with Project Managers to compare project progress against job budget and completion schedules.
- Takes corrective measures from information provided by Project Managers or Department Managers to ensure projects remain on budget.
- Assists with the completion of necessary documentation for project close out.
- Provides technical guidance, oversight and direction to field personnel.
- Acts as the primary point of management contact for crews working on Emergency Restoration Projects.
- Addresses any customer related issues that arise during the course of a project and discusses them with the Project Manager and Department Manager.
- Escalates issues to the Project Manager or Department Manager as needed.
- Assesses the talent of field personnel and provides input to the Department Manager.
- Performs assignments as directed by the Department Manager.
Education and Experience:
- BA in related field preferred. Equivalent experience accepted.
- 5+ years of telecommunications experience in ISP/OSP.
- Must be able to manage multiple aggressive job schedules.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and scopes of work.
- Microsoft Office 365 proficiency required
- Valid Driver's License

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Incumbent must be able to support an on-call schedule which includes holidays and/or weekends. Overtime and overnights are required on an as-needed basis.
Travel:
Time will be spent at field locations as well as corporate office. Some out-of-area and overnight travel is also expected.
Physical and Other Requirements:
This position may require overtime, flexible hours, and some weekends. This position requires some field supervision which may include working in field conditions such as rough terrain, inclement weather, at night, etc. This can also include walking and field instruction for crew members.
