We utilize state-of-the-art technology and an experienced team to specialize in electrical substation, renewable energy, and residential excavation projects. We have demonstrated our commitment to quality, performance, and safety with over 15 years of superior performance.We are currently looking for an experience Field Surveyor to join our team.As a Field Surveyor for SEI, you will work under the direct supervision of the project Superintendent and Project Manager to provide professional surveying services, ensuring that construction work complies with design drawings and specifications. You will also be responsible for the continues improvement of company standards and best practices for all survey-related activities. Top candidates will be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.Job duties include (but are not limited to):
- Setting up, adjusting and operating survey equipment, data collectors and GPS equipment in order to measure distances, elevations and angles.
- Surveying measurements of soil or rock grade to evaluate elevations for grading.
- Read and interpret design plans and provide appropriate survey data to ensure work in process aligns with design parameters.
- Verifying the accuracy of field survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Establishing control networks vertically and horizontally utilizing global positioning systems (GPS).
- Setting up base station poles and calibrating for future use.
- Installing and managing survey files on GPS equipped construction equipment such as dozers and motor graders.
- Troubleshooting machine control issues.
- Maintaining and organizing all survey data including field notes and project files using SharePoint, Propeller and Data Collectors.
- Training and mentoring others in survey techniques and the use of GPS systems.
Job Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time. This role will support multiple project sites across the U.S.
- Two-year technical engineering/surveying training or combination of high school diploma and experience. (A professional license is not required but is a plus).
- Thorough knowledge of and ability to use all surveying equipment and techniques including Topcon GPS, Trimble GPS, Base Stations, machine controls and lasers.
- Prior experience using Topcon products.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design plans.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Proficient in the use of Bluebeam, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Propeller and Magnet software
- Prior experience in a survey role supporting renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, Substations, BESS)
- Surveyor License
- Drone License
