We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment where our employees are valued members of the team and are given meaningful projects to work on.JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly experienced Field Service Manager with a deep specialization in HVAC systems tailored for data centers. In this pivotal role, you will oversee our team of skilled technicians, ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of HVAC systems critical to the high-demand environment of data centers, thereby facilitating uninterrupted business operations and supreme customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and mentor a team of HVAC field service technicians in installing, servicing, and maintaining HVAC systems, particularly those serving data center environments.
  • Develop and enact service protocols and best practices for data center HVAC operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and governmental regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with data center project managers and stakeholders to facilitate preventive maintenance, quick responses to system failures, and customized solutions to unique challenges.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety guidelines, fostering a culture that prioritizes safety alongside efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory management procedures to guarantee that service vehicles are sufficiently stocked with the necessary parts and equipment for data center HVAC systems.
  • Liaise with sales and marketing teams to create and implement strategies that highlight the company's proficiency in data center HVAC services.
  • Responsible to convey the customer experience to our organization through C2 customer complaint system
  • Support Services sales promotions, tools and goals
  • Interact with Service Sales to provide feedback on scope definition and cost to perform, and share leads
  • Interact with Service Engineering to provide feedback on Technical support quality and availability
  • Interact with Sales PM Team and Service Sales Team to share leads to help build Service Sales
  • Participates in recruiting activities as necessary to support staffing efforts
  • Advises Supervisor or other appropriate personnel regarding schedule conflicts, service related issues, equipment problems/issues, employee issues and any other job related issues
  • Responsible for new hire orientation, field training and on-going education activities to insure that employees know proper techniques, procedures and work rules
  • Performs quality assurance checks in the field
  • Provide back-office service administration related to but, not limited to:
  • Time sheet entry
  • Expense report review, preparation, submission, and approval for payment
  • Service Report Creation and review of field technician narrative
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5-7 years of substantial experience in the HVAC industry, with a significant focus on data center environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role overseeing a team of technicians.
  • Deep knowledge of the specific demands and challenges associated with data center HVAC systems.
  • Solid understanding of data center infrastructure and operational protocols.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art monitoring and management systems used in data centers.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities paired with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel (at short notice) to multiple site locations to meet the needs of the business as necessary
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Familiarity with data center certifications such as CDCMP, CDCP, or equivalent is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in HVAC; EPA Certification, strongly preferred
  • Experience with refrigeration and controls, strongly preferred
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively partner with cross functional teams to meet performance objectives and to support mission and vision of the Data Center Business
  • Clean driving record and willingness to travel frequently to various job sites
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminal, expansive reading, etc.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
