This position offers the flexibility of remote work for candidates on a case-by-case basis following an initial period of in-office training, with occasional visits to our St. Louis office as business needs require. A DAY IN THE LIFE: As a Field Technical Advisor ( FTA ), you will add value to N/E's product by supporting its customers and contractors with onsite technical support during construction. The FTA provides technical advice during the unloading, storage, and installation of N/E equipment, inspects the assembly, alignment and clearances of equipment supplied by N/E, maintains back charges within budget, addresses construction issues/problems, interprets mechanical and structural drawings for contractors, reports job progress including field problems using N/E field service report form, and manages contractors in onsite repairs and modifications. Specific onsite responsibilities will include coordinating how N/E equipment can be lifted or moved using different types of construction equipment to assure no damage to the equipment, making decisions as to whether contractor deviations from N/E drawings are acceptable, making decisions if field issues are N/E responsibility or Contractor's responsibility, reviewing construction processes and making suggestions on how to design our equipment better, and managing and directing N/E subcontractors in repairs or modifications, to include customer or plant on site policies and requirements as well as NE safety, quality, production, and schedule QUALIFICATIONS.
