We are currently looking for a hard-working, skilled Field Technician who takes pride in their work, which includes: interior & exterior grounds maintenance, trash removal-including the use of compactor, snow removal, and other maintenance duties as assigned. The Field Technician must have a valid driver's license and is required to drive a company vehicle. Our Field Technician position is Full-Time, Monday-Friday, sometimes rotating weekends, $17/hour with paid training, room for growth, with tools & uniforms provided, and eligibility for the benefits listed below:

Field Technician responsibilities:

  • Driving company vehicle to multiple sites
  • Manage work orders via iPhone app
  • Trash management, including the use of a compactor
  • Moving trash and recycling bins in and out on specified days
  • Litter/trash collection in exterior and interior common areas
  • Gutter cleaning
  • Pet station maintenance
  • Leaf blowing
  • Salting walkways
  • Provide support in moving furniture, appliances, etc. as needed
  • Ability to work independently
  • Positive, collaborative team player
  • Other duties as assigned

Field Technician requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Field Technician/Porter/Grounds experience preferred
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks within given timeframe
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with residents of varying ages and backgrounds
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and motor vehicle reporting
  • Ability to meet physical requirements:

    • The position is considered to have moderate to heavy physical demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to climb up to nine feet on ladders, work in overhead structures, walk, stand, twist, stoop, bend, squat, and kneel at least 90% of the workday. The employee will occasionally be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 100 pounds and frequently be required to lift, carry and/or move in excess of 50 pounds during the normal course of a workday

JOB SUMMARY: The Field Technician is responsible for the completion of all assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner.

Key accountabilities in order of priority and with ideal time allocations are:

1. Maintains all exterior areas and common spaces of assigned properties to the industry-leading standards set by Uptown Rental Properties. (65%)

2. Completes daily assigned work orders in a timely and cost-conscious manner to maximize productivity across all assign properties. (20%)

3. Responds and works as direct to emergency weather events to ensure resident safety. (5%)

Note: Ten percent of time is reserved for ancillary responsibilities, interruptions and unplanned activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The responsibilities listed are fundamental to the position and must be performed successfully to achieve the key performance objectives of the role. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Interpersonal Responsibilities

1. Serves as an on-site representative of Uptown Rental Properties, modeling exemplary professional behavior at all times.

2. Maintains professional relationships, develops strong teamwork and facilitates excellent communication with all co-workers both inside and outside of the office environment.

Operational Responsibilities

1. Reviews daily service issues with the Field Supervisor to ensure their timely completion, requesting support with materials, equipment and other resources as needed.

2. Completes service issues as assigned, notifying the Field Supervisor of any issues regarding their timely completion as needed.

3. Completes all reoccurring service issues for assigned properties, including but not limited to; grounds maintenance, clubhouse cleaning, changing of light bulbs, changing of smoke alarm batteries, snow removal, trash etc.

4. Assists other Field Technicians in the completion of service issues that require heavy lifting support and larger clean out projects when assigned.

5. Uses the internal work order management software to record status of work orders and time allocation of Uptown Rental Properties resources.

6. Constantly monitors asset condition and notifies the Field Supervisor of new service issues which need to be entered while onsite.

7. Documents all property conditions that may require resident communication for resolution in property management software and communicates with Field Supervisor.

8. Ensures the professional use of all assigned Uptown Rental Properties resources, including but not limited to company vehicle, cell phone, tools and equipment etc.

Over 90% of the employees time will be spent working in a residential housing environment. The employee will be exposed to variety of weather conditions common to the local climate. The employee may be required to wear protective headgear, eyewear, ear protection and other personal protective equipment as project conditions warrant.
