Job Title: Field Technician – Cell Site Maintenance (Ericsson Equipment)
Location: Central/Northern Maine (Bangor area)
Contract Duration: 4 months (with potential extensions)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Field Technician to support cell site maintenance and resolve network outages across Central and Northern Maine. The role requires strong experience with Ericsson equipment, fiber connections, and Ethernet systems. This is a traditional full-time role, and the selected candidate will be responsible for visiting 1-2 sites daily, covering an area with approximately 80-90 sites. If you have prior T-Mobile Full-Time experience and strong hands-on knowledge in cell site maintenance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Perform network triage and alarm assessments to identify and address issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PMs) for cell sites and resolve network outages.
- Handle and maintain Ericsson hardware (e.g., BB6630, BB6648, BB6651, 6102, 6160, B160 cabinets).
- Configure and troubleshoot cell site routing (SAR-M, SAS MXP, SAS).
- Manage fiber and Ethernet connections, including inspecting, cleaning, and ensuring proper handling.
- Apply knowledge of routing protocols, VLANs, IP addressing, and physical layer connections (Layer 1, 2, and 3).
- Collaborate with teams and ensure prompt responses to emails, reports, and updates.
- Utilize proficient computer skills (Excel, command-line structures, documentation, and communication).
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in cell site maintenance, network troubleshooting, or similar roles.
- Hands-on experience with Ericsson cell site equipment (BB6630, BB6648, BB6651) and routing systems.
- Strong understanding of fiber types, Ethernet systems, and AC/DC power systems.
- Familiarity with basic electrical concepts and grounding practices.
- Ability to handle a wide area, visiting multiple sites daily, with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience with T-Mobile as a full-time technician.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning, signaling, and data services.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
