All while understanding thattogetherwe are even better.Schedule: Full Time, ExemptShift :Monday - Friday; business hours w/extended hours expected around month end/close processLocation: Onsite AdventHealth Bolingbrook HospitalThe role you'll contribute:The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing preparation of accurate and timely operating budgets, capital budget and regulatory reporting.Responsible to proactively create tools and reports to transform data into information to provide insight to executive team and operational management for the purpose of controlling costs, managing change, improving performance and creating organizational value.This includes, but is not limited to, daily, weekly and monthly expense monitoring tools, proformas, hindsight analyses of capital, supply and new-service expenditures and other reports for local and AHS management, finance committee, board of directors and other constituents as requested.Responsible to develop and implement human systems to ensure management of expenses and capital in relationship to hospital revenues and budget. Must be proficient in communicating complex topics in a clear and concise manner that is easily understood by individuals without formal financial training.Must demonstrate ability to transfer knowledge to others in a way that is useful in improving the financial and mission performance of the respective areas of responsibility and the hospital in total.The value you'll bring to the team: - Ensure results of departments supervised meet standards set by AdventHealth and the local facility including but not limited to accurate, timely reporting, financial proformas and projections, budget creation, regulatory reporting, facility compliance with AdventHealth Compliance Plan, patient scheduling, registration and local collection of patient revenues and compliance with Clinical Documentation standards. - Converts knowledge of complex hospital operational issues and initiatives into accurate financial models.Mentors members of finance team to create proficiency in this area. - Create local structure to ensure management of local facility costs in accordance with budget as adjusted for volume. - Ensure availability of meaningful, accurate, timely information to be used by management for decision making. - Support CFO in creating structures to report and manage financial performance of the hospital.Facilitate definition and collection of information as needed. - Provides reliable and correct guidance and policy interpretation to directors and executive team in absence of CFO. - Chair and facilitate interdepartmental meetings and provide management presentations to accomplish goals. - Chair and facilitate meetings and provide management presentations, when requested, in absence of CFO. - Create succession plans for departments supervised and develop staff identified as potential leaders within the organization. - Participate in interdepartmental meetings as needed to assist in rational goal setting, ensure the accomplishment of goals and deadlines and ensure activities are consistent with the accomplishment of overall organizational goals. - Mentors management of assigned functions to meet financial, operational, employee engagement and employee retention goals. - Must demonstrate strong, objective judgment in decision making and must demonstrate strong interpersonal and managerial skills. - Must demonstrate ability to transfer knowledge to others in a way that is useful in improving the financial and mission performance of the respective areas of responsibility and the hospital in total. - Other duties as assignedQualificationsThe expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: - Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - Proven knowledge of the revenue cycle within a hospital including patient access, coding, billing, insurance contracts and charge master - Excellent forecasting and financial modeling skills to prepare accurate budgets and financial projections.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. - Five - ten years of progressive work experience in hospital finance, accounting or related field with exposure to internal control functions, cost report preparation and auditing. - Previous supervisory experience necessary; finance leadership experience in healthcare. - Extensive experience with mainframe accounting and budgeting systems and PC based spreadsheets is required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: - Master's degree strongly preferred .
