Position Overview

We are seeking a Finance Director to drive financial strategy and operations as we scale our unique wardrobe essentials business.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Financial Leadership
  • Partner with founders and executive team to develop and execute financial strategy
  • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Develop financial models for new business initiatives and market expansion
  • Create and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts
  • Manage relationships with investors, banks, and financial partners
  • Develop financial models for drop-based inventory management
  • Create pricing strategies for limited edition releases
  • Forecast cash requirements for production cycles
  • Analyze performance metrics for each drop
  • Optimize working capital for seasonal collections
  • Oversee all day-to-day financial operations
  • Implement cost control measures across the organization
  • Lead external audit processes
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Operations & Analysis
  • Partner with department heads to develop and track departmental P&Ls
  • Implement standardized cost tracking and reporting systems by department
  • Establish monthly financial review processes with department heads
  • Lead quarterly business reviews focusing on operational KPIs and financial metrics
  • Oversee monthly close process and financial reporting
  • Design Budgets
  • Work with Design and Development teams to:
  • Develop collection budgets and cost targets
  • Create financial guardrails for design and development
  • Analyze profitability by collection and style
  • Optimize sample and development costs
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Develop and implement robust AR + AP tracking systems
  • Create standardized processes for regular reconciliation of wholesale accounts
  • Establish clear aging reports and collection procedures for outstanding invoices
  • Design and implement an early warning system for potential payment issues.
  • Create and maintain aging receivables recovery procedures.
  • Work with wholesale team to set appropriate terms
  • Improve monthly reporting templates for receivables status
  • Develop cash flow forecasting models based on collection patterns
  • Accounts Payable
  • Develop and implement streamlined accounts payable processes to optimize cash flow management
  • Establish clear approval hierarchies and payment authorization protocols
  • Create standardized procedures for invoice processing, approval workflows, and payment scheduling
  • Develop reporting tools to provide visibility into upcoming payment obligations and cash requirements
  • Implement policies for capturing early payment discounts where financially advantageous
  • Coordinate with Production and Operations teams to align payment schedules with production calendars
  • Lead regular reconciliations with external book-keepers
  • Oversee month-end closing processes related to accounts payable
  • Develop contingency planning for managing cash flow constraints during seasonal production cycles
  • Investor Relations & Capital Strategy
  • Develop investor reporting packages and dashboards
  • Create financial models for fundraising rounds
  • Prepare and deliver investor presentations and quarterly updates
  • Develop and track key performance indicators important to investors
  • Maintain cap table and equity management systems
  • Prepare financial documentation for board meetings
  • Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
  • Qualified accountant (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of finance experience, with +5 years in luxury fashion or DTC brands
  • Strong experience with direct-to-consumer business models
  • Experience with international operations and multiple currencies
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with ERP systems, especially RLM
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, especially Shopify Plus & Global-E
  • Proven track record in cross-functional financial leadership
  • Experience in managing wholesale accounts receivable
  • Success Metrics (First 12 Months)

  • Establish departmental budget ownership
  • Optimize working capital management
  • Enhance financial forecasting accuracy
