Finance Intern-West Palm Beach, FL - Farm Credit Council : Job Details

We are recruiting for a Finance Intern to join our team for the summer. This program is designed for students who would enjoy the opportunity to work alongside our finance professionals and gain practical experience in finance. Hands on interaction with the finance team will allow you the opportunity to observe the different roles within the department and learn aspects of those roles such as preparing annual budgets, analyzing data and the month-end closing process. This internship will be in our West Palm Beach office with the flexibility to travel to other offices.

Objectives:

- Learn about the Farm Credit System and Farm Credit of Florida products, services, mission, and function of the Finance department. - Develop the basic skills to prepare a budget, create and audit reports and provide financial analysis. - Understand the financial and accounting procedures of Farm Credit of Florida. - Learn what key information is needed to help identify financial risks and create financial models. - Understand and gain knowledge of financial laws, government policies and accounting processes. - Assists with special projects, as assigned.

Skills:

- Proficient organizational and technological skills - Detailed-oriented with strong multi-tasking capabilities - Excellent interpersonal skills: able to maintain good rapport with team members as well as maintain professionalism with customers and those outside the department. - Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Strong math and numerical skills - Customer Focused - Priority Setting/Time Management - Capable of identifying and completing tasks independently, and reporting on progress, with a sense of urgency and ownership.

Basic Qualifications:

- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting - Rising Junior or Senior - Agriculture, rural ties and/or knowledge of various segments in the agriculture industry are a plus
