Title: Finance ManagerDepartment: FinanceReports To: Refer to location organizational chartSUMMARY: Responsible for the financial operation of the plant includes: financial analysis, planning and forecasting. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company. PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Works shift as assigned and overtime as required.Monday through Friday 7AM- 3PM. Will vary, depending on workload ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation.
  • Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
  • Understands systems and interrelationships between systems
  • Develops recommended opportunities for enhancements to systems
  • Understands the impact of changes in accounting standards on finance systems and technology
  • Uses and supports the development of systems and tools to enhance speed and depth of financial analysis and decision making
  • Understands and leads key financial processes
  • Identifies opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve internal processes
  • Develops routine financial estimates and annual operating plans
  • Prepares insightful, forward-looking financial modeling and return on investment analysis
  • Provides an informed point of view on financial performance against targets
  • Comprehends and consistently applies company policies and procedures
  • Understands internal accounting processes, practices, and internal controls necessary to safeguard company assets and minimize exposure
  • Records, summarizes and reports business transactions to provide an accurate picture of the company's financial position and performance for internal and external stakeholders
  • Understands and interprets financial statements
  • Provides value-added reporting of financial data and operating results
  • Uses risk evaluation in analysis and implements plans to protect Company value
  • Creates terms and conditions with outside parties to produce optimal financial outcomes
  • Develops business plans that identify new areas of growth, optimize allocation of resources and asset utilization, and drive margin improvement
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities and capabilities that deliver against the business strategy
  • Develops and pursues recommendations that support a sustainable business model.
  • Delivers P&L targets, including identification and management of risks and opportunities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Leads and directs finance team and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Finance experience with good knowledge of Accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a business partner to help drive various initiatives / projects / programs.
  • Ability to provide strong financial leadership to the plant and anticipate the need of various stakeholder sand pride sound financial recommendations.
  • Ability to lead implementation and articulation of site and regions operating strategy.
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: business principles, legal practices, accounting practices and computer information systems.
  • Self-motived, able to work with a high degree of independence and excel in a team based environment.
  • Prior experience or exposure to continuous improvement and Supply Chain financial analysis.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITY:Must use solid judgment when making decisions.
