About the RoleAs Finance Manager / Controller, you will play a crucial leadership role in our finance team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role collaborates closely with managers across the business to ensure our financial planning, reporting, and analysis align with A-B's strategic objectives. You will provide accounting oversight, financial reporting, and cash flow management while maintaining compliance with regulatory and tax standards. In this role, you will not only ensure financial integrity but also implement best-in-class processes that support our growth, ensuring the financial stability needed to pursue our equity-driven mission. Responsibilities:Accounting & Financial Oversight
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Oversee bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and chart of accounts revisions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures aligned with accounting standards.
- Safeguard company assets through the development of internal control systems.
- Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for client billing and partner payments.
- Partner with project managers to track accounts receivable, proactively managing collections.
- Monitor the company's cash flow, identifying and addressing potential challenges before they arise.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and manage financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and related financial reports.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders.
- Provide analysis on budget variances and financial results, offering insights to optimize performance.
- Develop and monitor financial metrics and KPIs to assess A-B's business performance and align with our mission.
- Partner with department leaders to develop annual budgets and forecasts, supporting their financial needs with insight-driven recommendations.
Banking, Audit, and Tax Compliance
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions to maintain relationships and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate the annual audit process, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, handling reporting requirements effectively.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Conduct performance reviews and promote professional development, aligning team growth with company goals.
- Collaborate across departments, understanding their financial needs and driving process improvements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting frameworks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within professional services or a creative agency environment.
- Bonus for experience with C3 and C4 accounting standards and reporting.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in financial software and advanced in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Compensation & BenefitsThe salary band for this role starts at $106,250 annually, commensurate with experience.
