Financial Analyst - Decisive Point : Job Details

Decisive Point is an investment firm focused on critical technologies for defense, energy, and infrastructure.

Decisive Point is hiring an Analyst to support the firm's financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting portfolio valuations, managing accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with accounting software, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Location: New York, New York (remote candidates will not be considered)

Responsibilities:

• Directly support the Managing Partner on special projects and new business lines of effort.
• Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger entries to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Work with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial consultants as needed.

Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of corporate finance and valuations.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in financial reporting and preparing financial statements.
• Knowledge of investment firms or financial services is a plus.
