Financial ControllerDepartment: Environmental Health/Safety/Occupational Safety Employment Type: Full Time Location: Jackson, MI Description As a people-first company, internal growth is at the core of our culture. To help support our current needs and future growth, Waggoner is looking for a Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will ensure consistent corporate financial strategy through various avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and a fixed asset program. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and necessary authorities. Key Responsibilities
  • Support the CFO in managing and monitoring all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with US GAAP standards
  • Support the CFO in the preparation of financial statements including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and trial balance
  • Assist the CFO in setting financial strategies and protocols by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems that meet Waggoner's needs
  • Provide day-to-day Deltek Vision support and have the ability to create custom reports in Vision
  • Maintain GL support schedules and verify all routine JEs
  • Coordinate monthly closing meetings and provide all required schedules and support
  • Provide monthly reporting on the bookings, backlog, revenue, profit, etc.
  • Oversee and support fixed asset programs and procedures
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Master in Accounting (preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in the public/private accounting field
  • CPA license (preferred)
  • Strong communication both written and verbal
  • Deltek ERP experience (preferred)
  • Foster an environment of efficiency, accuracy, collaboration, and open communication
  • Demonstrate a high degree of integrity, independence, reliability, and personal accountability in this hands-on role
