The Terminal Expansion Phase 2 Project began in fall 2024 and will add Concourse E with 14 gates, expand the Chiller Plant Facility, as well as make other associated terminal, landside and airside improvements.The anticipated annual salary for the ideal candidate is between $59,000 and $70,800 The PositionThe Lee County Port Authority is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our finance team, where you will enjoy a positive and supportive work environment in the aviation industry. This is a professional accounting role primarily responsible for tracking, monitoring and reporting of Port Authority capital projects, as well as all federal and state grants, Passenger Facility Charges and other funding sources related to capital projects.Key Responsibilities
- Advise the finance and development departments on project revenues, project expenditures, available project budgets, pending project revenues and expenditures, etc.
- Track and report all project budget information for all development projects, and provide managers with financial information
- Track and report all grants timely and effectively
- Coordinate all required grant activity (i.e., draws) with the Governmental Affairs & Grants department, and when appropriate, required state and federal agencies
- Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring procedures, practices, policies, systems and programs necessary to control the efficient, effective and timely administration of all project budgets
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial software
- General knowledge of governmental auditing, accounting techniques and requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate financial matters to project management personnel
- Must have meticulous attention to detail.
- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or business administration from an accredited four-year college/university with accounting experience preferred, or candidates nearing graduation with advanced accounting coursework
- Public agency experience in accounting a plus
- Considerable knowledge of personal computer with Microsoft Office, Google or similar software experience
- Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
OtherEmergency Response/Recovery Activities: Lee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time. Employees are insured at an amount equal to the annual salary rounded to the next higher thousand dollars.
