PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:United Security Services, Inc., seeks to employ a Full-Time Fire and Life Safety Director, located in the New York area. This will be for a hotel setting and requires a specialty certification (Z89/F89/T89 FLSD Category of Fitness) from the Fire department of NY (FDNY). Schedule flexibility is also an absolute must.Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor guest areas for unauthorized people, suspicious activity and/or any discrepancies.
- Remain attentive to any abnormalities, all of which include any form of safety hazards, and emergency cases. Emergency response (i.e., fire, police, ambulance work force) should be reached in the event of any irregularities.
- Direct and assist in emergency procedures, ensuring that the fire safety plan is executed accordingly.
- Assure that all fire and safety systems, including fire alarms and smoke detectors are functioning; report any defective systems as needed.
- Guarantee that information is neatly and appropriately recorded into to all logbooks in accordance with NYC Fire Code.
- Ensure that Security Guards are present for their scheduled shifts and located at their designated post.
- Ensure Security Guards are in full uniform, comply with post orders, and company policy.
- Assist with any needs or requests hotel guests may have.
- Maintain a hospitable and safe environment for all guests and hotel personnel.
- Communicate with regional management and property manager.
Requirements:
- Experience in security, armed or unarmed
- Supervisory experience in building security strongly preferred
- One of the following COF licenses:
- F, N, T, or Z-89
- F or T is most-preferred
- If in possession of a Z license, you must prefer the date it was issued
- Ability and willingness to stand and be mobile
- Flexibility as the hours range
Expected hours: 32 per week on the following schedule:
- Sunday: 4 pm - 12 am
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 12 am - 8 am
