MAJOR FUNCTIONUnder direction of the Warehouse Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with purchasing uniforms, bunker gear, and maintaining uniform store front. This position is also responsible for overseeing and scheduling Fire Rescue annual inventory audits and tracking all capital equipment. Communication with Fleet, I.T., Radio Shop is essential for updated records. As the Uniform / Asset Coordinator you will be the liaison to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Fixed Asset Office.ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIESEnsures all uniforms and gear meet safety and performance standards. Complies with Polk County BOCC uniform standards and Polk County Fire Rescue Uniform Standard Operating Guidelines and the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) uniform procedures. This includes regular inspection of gear for wear and tear turned in by Fire Rescue employees. Assist with issuance of uniforms and tracking through the county system (Silent Partners). Establishes and oversees a maintenance program to clean, repair, or replace damaged or worn-out uniform items. Coordinates with external vendors for specialized repair work.Keeps detailed records of inventory levels through county system, issues gear to personnel and manages the life cycle of each item from acquisition to disposal.Manages and oversees all capital equipment (i.e. rams, stair chairs, spreaders, thermal imaging cameras, radios, VR equipment, laptops etc.). Conducts annual inventory audits with Polk County Clerk of Courts Fixed Asset Office. Serves as a liaison to Fleet, I.T. and the Radio shop for tracking capital equipment. Tracks and verifies scanned assets from daily truck checks via radio-frequency identification (RFID) reconciliation report. Ensures compliance of proper asset disposals upon approval from appointed custodian via donations, landfill, or Online sale.KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of uniforms and equipment standards specific to fire rescue operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGraduate of an accredited two (2) year college or University with major course work in logistics, supply chain management, public administration, business administration, fire rescue, or a related field, and a minimum of (5) years of experience in warehouse distribution, inventory control.Must have a valid driver's license and be able to secure a valid Florida driver's license at the time of employment within this classification. Must pass a stringent background screening with CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System) clearance and maintain throughout employment in this position.A comparable amount of related training and experience beyond the required minimum five (5) years may be substituted for the degree requirement.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTTwo (2) years of customer service experience and proficiency with computer literacy and basic mathematical computation required.Knowledge of Fire/EMS office procedures and equipment.This position shall be required to report for work when a declaration of emergency has been declared in Polk County.SPECIAL PREFERENCESExperience with Oracle ERP.Experience with inventory tracking programs (Silent Partners or similar).Knowledge of using measuring tape.Knowledge of commonly used equipment and supplies in the Fire and EMS industry and warehouse environment.Knowledge of procurement policies, procedures, and practices.This position shall be required to report for work when a declaration of emergency has been declared in Polk County.
