- System Inspections: Conduct routine inspections and functional tests of fire alarms, sprinklers, portable fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and kitchen suppression systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning, replacing parts, troubleshooting malfunctions, and coordinating complex repairs.
- Installations & Upgrades: Install new systems in construction or renovation projects, and upgrade existing systems to current safety standards.
- Code Compliance: Stay updated on local and national fire safety codes, ensuring all work meets or exceeds regulatory requirements.
- Customer Support: Collaborate with clients to address safety concerns, explain technical details, and provide fire safety training as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs, generating reports to highlight system conditions and compliance status.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in fire protection systems or a similar technical field (preferred but not required - we'll train the right candidate).
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring climbing ladders, lifting 50+lb equipment, and working in varied conditions.
- Strong problem-solving, detailed oriented, and troubleshooting skills.
- Customer service-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Experience with industry related software is beneficial.
- Familiarity with local fire safety codes is a plus.
- Must be safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
- Proficiency with power tools and ability to bring the main tools necessary for the role.
- Ability to participate in rotating on call services, including after hours and weekend potential.
- Valid Drivers License and ability to pass a background clearance.
